· A
parent who wishes to request that their child’s name, address, and
telephone number not be released to a military recruiter must do so in
writing to the appropriate school principal at the beginning (prior to
September 1) of each school year.
· Parents
will be informed of their child’s eligibility for service in specific
programs (if applicable) including: Title 1 – Part A; Migrant Title 1 –
Part C; Homeless – Title 1 Part D; Title III
· Parents
may request professional qualifications of their child’s classroom
teacher at the beginning of each semester by contacting the Perry County
School System Supervisor of Instruction at 931-589-2101
· According
to the No Child Left Behind Highly Qualified requirements, the parent
will receive written notification if the student is assigned to a
teacher employed over four weeks who does not meet highly qualified
requirements.
· Parents of children in schools identified for school improvement
(if applicable) by the State Department of Education will receive
written notification of right to choice, supplemental services and more
effective involvement.
· Transfer
option of Students Victimized by Violent Crime at School- Under
the Tennessee State Board of Education's Unsafe School Choice Policy,
any public school student who is the victim of a violent crime as
defined under Tennessee Code Annotated 40-38-111(g), or the attempt to
commit one of these offenses as defined under Tennessee Code Annotated
39-12-101, shall be provided an opportunity to transfer to another
grade-level appropriate school within the district. Additional
