Special Education Services
Each school in the Perry County System provides Special Education
Services to eligible students. These services are based on the needs of
each student as determined by the IEP-Team in accordance with the
Federal and State regulations.
Perry County annually serves between 200 and 400 students with
special needs. We currently employee 12 special education teachers, 2
speech/language pathologist, 11 educational assistants, and one school
psychologist.
The majority of our students are involved in the general curriculum
with support from the special education staff in the form of inclusion,
resource, or consultation services. In our efforts to meet the
individual needs of each child, we offer a continuum of options of
services ranging from least to most restrictive.
